The 2025 Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament has officially kicked off, and if the opening round at AEW Dynasty is any sign of what’s to come — the rest of the bracket should come with a seatbelt and a chiropractor. Because Will Ospreay and Kyle Fletcher didn’t just advance — they launched themselves into the semi-finals with enough velocity to disrupt satellite signals.

✈️ Will Ospreay vs. Kevin Knight:

This match could’ve been sponsored by Red Bull and still not captured the speed involved.

Kevin “The Jet” Knight came to fly, and Ospreay came to show he owns the airspace. From the jump, the two tore through gravity like it owed them money. Knight’s agility kept Ospreay on his toes (and occasionally on his back), but the “Aerial Assassin” slowed the pace with the kind of chops that echo into next week.

Knight refused to stay down, hitting springboard lariats, over-the-post crossbodies, and enough top-rope wizardry to earn his pilot’s license. But just when it looked like he was about to cause the upset of the tournament, Ospreay countered a springboard with a Cutter, followed by a Styles Clash, an Os Cutter, and finally the Hidden Blade — because three finishers are better than one, and insurance is for cowards.

Winner: Will Ospreay. Condition: Slightly winded. Bracket: Advanced.

💥 Kyle Fletcher vs. Mark Briscoe:

Fletcher didn’t wait for a bell. Or an intro. Or a handshake. He hit Briscoe with a Tope Suicida before Briscoe could even say “Dem Boys.”

Briscoe weathered the early storm with some vintage chaos — including apron backdrops, neckbreakers, and chair-based distraction tactics that nearly paid off. But Fletcher’s answer was pain. Half-and-half suplexes on chairs. Powerbombs on aprons. Boots to faces. A Brainbuster so nasty it may have made Ric Flair cry somewhere involuntarily.

The match turned into a brawl-meets-ballet performance, with Briscoe clawing back to hit Froggy Bows, a Cutthroat Driver, and even an Avalanche Razor’s Edge — but missed his final Froggy, and that was all Fletcher needed. Two running boots and a Brainbuster on the top rope sealed it.

Because nothing says “I want to win this tournament” like spiking a man’s head from altitude.

Winner: Kyle Fletcher. Condition: Probably concussed someone. Bracket: Also advanced.

So what’s next?

  • Ospreay awaits either Takeshita or Brody King, and he’s already Googling “hidden blade vs. kaiju offense.”

  • Fletcher faces either Hangman Page or the Mysterious Wild Card™, who is likely dangerous, dramatic, or both.

The Owen Hart Cup is now a battlefield, and these two just turned the opening round into a highlight reel.
