Lexis King went to Las Vegas looking to flex his dominance. He left with his Heritage Cup in a shark cage and his pride somewhere near the blackjack tables.
At Stand & Deliver, legendary illusionists Penn & Teller pulled off the most Vegas wrestling angle possible: making King’s cup disappear — only to reappear this week under conditions so bizarre, David Copperfield blushed.
Before Tuesday’s episode of “NXT,” King approached the duo backstage (via video on X), trying to negotiate the return of his shiny justification for arrogance. Penn & Teller agreed — but only if King bent the knee to kayfabe sorcery.
Condition #1: King had to apologize — publicly — for saying “magic isn’t real.”
Condition #2: He had to put the Cup on the line immediately at the BleauLive Theater.
Condition #3: (unspoken) He had to stop acting like a guy who buys fake Rolexes from gas stations.
King, swallowing more pride than protein powder, begrudgingly agreed. Teller then entered the shark cage, Penn did the abracadabra thing, and boom — the Heritage Cup reappeared like it never ghosted King in Vegas.
But here’s the kicker:
Penn says King’s opponent tonight will be a “surprise.” So, either we’re getting a returning legend, a debuting monster, or just… Dar again with an even spicier elbow.
Also on deck tonight:
-
Stephanie Vaquer vs. Roxanne Perez for the Women’s Championship, aka “Battle of the Prodigies”.
-
Liv & Raquel vs. Dolin & Paxley, for the WWE Women’s Tag Titles. And no, it’s not a repeat — it’s just back-to-back beatdowns.
