Ladies and gentlemen, grab your tiny luchador masks and a box of tissues—because it looks like the King of the 619 might be sidelined before WrestleMania 41, and not even a frog splash can save us from the heartbreak.

On WWE SmackDown, Rey Mysterio teamed up with Dragon Lee and Rey Fenix in a three-man tag match against American Made, a group that sounds like they were printed out of a Bald Eagle and a protein shake. The LWO picked up the win thanks to Fenix dropping double knees on Julius Creed like he was settling a personal vendetta with his kneecaps. But while the match ended in victory, the night closed with concern.

Fan footage circulating on X (formerly Twitter, currently spiraling) shows Rey being helped to the back by officials—his right leg clearly giving out faster than WWE logic during draft season. He made it a few steps up the ramp before needing a full lift, like your cousin at a wedding after that third tequila shot.

And just to pour guac on this already stressful burrito: Rey is supposed to face El Grande Americano—aka Chad Gable in a mask so ridiculous it makes El Generico look like high fashion—in a singles match at WrestleMania 41. This match was meant to settle the score after weeks of lucha mockery, cosplay crimes, and unsolicited freedom chants.

So far, WWE has offered no official update on Rey’s condition. Translation: We’re all panicking until further notice. Or until Michael Cole dramatically says, “We have some breaking news, folks.”

Here’s hoping the future Hall of Fame rematch isn’t off the card—and that El Grande Americano gets what’s coming, preferably via a fully functioning 619.

I like ice cream, taking a back seat, wondering who I am, and pretending kayfabe is real. May or may not be the Real Dark Brandon. For the LOLZ. MALARKEY!
