Ricochet missed this week’s AEW Dynamite, but it wasn’t due to injury, suspension, or being trapped in an endless loop of flip-based offense. No, folks—he skipped the show to get married.
The high-flying AEW star tied the knot with former WWE ring announcer Samantha Irvin, proving that love conquers all—even awkward brand switches. But don’t worry, Ricochet still popped up during Dynamite via a pre-recorded video to remind everyone that he may be on his honeymoon, but he’s still planning to dropkick you into another dimension.
Wearing an all-white outfit that screamed “groom, but make it lucha”, Ricochet addressed AEW International Champion Kenny Omega and human espresso shot “Speedball” Mike Bailey ahead of their upcoming triple threat match at AEW Dynasty. He looked straight into the camera like a man who had just said “I do” and was immediately ready to say “I will… kick you in the face.”
Meanwhile, earlier in the night, Bailey approached Omega after the champ defeated Blake Christian. In a heartfelt “I respect you, but I also want to crush your skull” speech, Bailey declared that while Omega inspired him, Dynasty would be a head-kicking festival with no survivors.
Enter Ricochet via video, casually inserting himself into the bromantic tension like, “Hey guys, sorry I couldn’t be there—I was busy doing life goals. But make no mistake, I’m still gonna ruin yours.”
This triple threat match was set in motion last week when Ricochet and Bailey simultaneously pinned Mark Davis in a four-way match also featuring Orange Cassidy and the ghost of logic. The result? AEW decided, “Screw it, let’s do a triple threat,” and now all three men are on a collision course for Dynasty.
So, to recap:
-
Ricochet is married.
-
He still had time to send a passive-aggressive honeymoon message.
-
Someone’s skull is probably getting caved in at Dynasty.
Love is in the air. So are knees.
