If there was ever a doubt that Ricochet was fully All Elite, that doubt got moonsaulted into the sun this week when the high-flying AEW star responded to WWE President Nick Khan’s subtle (read: not subtle) jabs at AEW with the kind of blunt heat normally reserved for Yelp reviews and divorced dads with podcast mics.
Nick Khan, speaking on The Bill Simmons Podcast (because where else do billion-dollar executives throw shade in 2025?), talked up WWE’s interest in AEW talent, saying:
“We think they have a lot of talented wrestlers… and when they’re available, we assume many will come here.”
Also known as:
🎯 “Hey Tony, nice roster. Let’s see who’s still around in six months.”
👀 He also lobbed in some unnamed jabs at Tony Khan and Papa Khan (no relation, but clearly some feelings).
Well, Ricochet—who spent years in WWE doing six-star flips only to lose to roll-ups on Main Event—was not here for the company’s “we’ll take your stars” energy. He retweeted Cultaholic’s recap of the interview and dropped this absolute gem:
“Oh man, these guys f**** suck.”**
(+ the eye-roll emoji heard ’round the IWC)
This wasn’t just shade. This was a solar eclipse with an uppercut.
Why it matters:
-
Ricochet left WWE earlier this year after they wrote him off TV via Bron Breakker-inflicted murder.
-
He debuted in AEW at All In, flying in via casino gauntlet match like the world’s angriest Ace of Spades.
-
He’s now thriving, most recently in a triple threat vs. Kenny Omega and Mike Bailey at Dynasty that moved faster than Nick Khan ducking follow-up questions.
Meanwhile, WWE is reportedly interested in Mariah May, as rumors swirl about her potential jump when her contract ends. Looks like we’re entering a new era of “who can poach who”—with Ricochet leading Team Petty like a sponsored captain.
