In a move that was less shocking and more quietly inevitable, AEW has reportedly parted ways with The Righteous—Dutch and Vincent, the creepiest duo this side of a haunted Cracker Barrel. According to PWInsider, the former ROH Six-Man Tag Champs were shown the gothic, lantern-lit door last week.

These two trench coat-clad harbingers of Ring of Honor weirdness first arrived in AEW back in 2023 after a Supercard of Honor cameo, looking like cult leaders who got lost on the way to a Nine Inch Nails video shoot. While they mostly haunted the darker corners of Collision and ROH on Honor Club, they never truly cracked the Tony Khan algorithm for TV time.

Their final match under the AEW umbrella came in a chaotic ROH eight-man tag, where they teamed up with Ariya Daivari and Tony Nese. (That’s right, The Righteous were last seen righteously aligned with a guy who does bicep curls mid-match. Peak irony.) Before that? A loss in a Double Bullrope match—because if you’re going out, may as well do it with rope burn and cowboy cosplay.

With Dutch and Vincent’s exit, AEW continues its slow spring-cleaning of the roster. Also recently gone:

  • EJ Nduka, who left with a farewell that was part resignation letter, part cryptic subtweet.

  • Malakai Black, Miro, Rey Fenix, and Ricky Starks—who didn’t just exit, they WWE’d their way out like it was a Royal Rumble twist ending.

  • Other stars with deals quietly ending include Zak Knight, Nick Comoroto, Abadon, and Saraya (the artist formerly known as AEW’s British Queen of Vibes).

As for The Righteous? Expect them to turn up soon, perhaps in Impact, MLW, or your next paranormal docuseries about ghosts with gym memberships.

I like ice cream, taking a back seat, wondering who I am, and pretending kayfabe is real. May or may not be the Real Dark Brandon. For the LOLZ. MALARKEY!
