Just when you thought Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson couldn’t up the ante in his ever-escalating WWE power play, he took to SmackDown and dropped a line straight out of a horror movie:

“I want your soul.”

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, The Rock has officially moved beyond collecting championship belts and Hollywood paychecks—he now wants to collect Cody Rhodes’ soul like he’s Shang Tsung from Mortal Kombat.

The Rock’s Master Plan: Befriend, Befuddle, and Bewitch

Before demanding Rhodes’ very essence, The Rock took the scenic route, hitting us with a bizarre mix of heartwarming and slightly unsettling declarations:
✔️ He called Cody “my champion.”
✔️ He emphasized their deep friendship (as well as their mothers’ newfound bestie status).
✔️ He offered to make Cody’s dreams come true like some kind of wrestling genie.
✔️ And then—BAM!—suddenly, it wasn’t about titles. It was about taking Cody’s soul.

Cody, Rightfully Confused, Asks the Real Question

Rhodes, doing what any sane person would do when someone says they want their soul, responded:
“So… are you asking for a title shot?”

But nope! The Rock made it clear—he’s not interested in the Undisputed WWE Championship. He wants something deeper. Something mystical. Something… completely unnecessary but totally entertaining.

A WrestleMania Feud Brewing—With A Side of Corporate Flexing

Of course, The Rock couldn’t leave without casually reminding everyone that he sits on the TKO Group Holdings board of directors, WWE’s parent company. Because nothing says big bad wrestling villain like a man who both threatens your soul and simultaneously brags about his executive position like he’s at a stockholders’ meeting.

Adding to the chaos, he even threw in a reference to TKO CEO Ari Emanuel allegedly telling him that The Rock practically owns WWE. At this point, it’s unclear if The Rock is setting up a match at Elimination Chamber, WrestleMania 40, or a corporate hostile takeover.

What happens next? Will Cody sell his soul for a WrestleMania moment? Will The Rock start stealing other WWE Superstars’ souls like a wrestling Grim Reaper? And most importantly—what does The Undertaker think about all this?

Tune in March 1 at Elimination Chamber to find out.
