In a development that’s got more suspense than one of his moody promos in a fog machine warehouse, Karrion Kross is officially in the final year of his WWE contract. Yes, folks, the hourglass is not just a prop—it’s a metaphor now. Very powerful. Very dramatic.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select (the man who knows more wrestling secrets than Paul Heyman’s burner phone), Kross’ contract is set to expire this summer. As of right now, neither side has so much as locked eyes across a candlelit negotiation table—no talks have started. But insiders say WWE officials are “ecstatic” about Kross lately. That’s corporate for, “We were shocked this guy figured out how to get over without us sabotaging it.”
Reportedly, they’re impressed with his social media skills—because nothing screams sports entertainment like a well-filtered thirst trap and ominous X-posts with vague biblical energy. His current TV run is also earning praise, which must be a huge relief for the man who once walked out in leather suspenders and a gladiator helmet like a steampunk server at Medieval Times.
And what about Scarlett? You know, the valet/manager/pyromancer/general vibe curator? No word yet on her contract status, but rest assured—if she’s leaving, the production truck will need at least three interns and one haunted mirror to replace her.
Kross’ WWE journey has had more twists than a Hardy Boyz ladder match. From NXT dominance during the pandemic (when the only crowd reaction was Michael Cole’s mic peaking), to a main roster makeover that screamed budget Mortal Kombat, then the 2021 release that had fans yelling, “Wait, what even was that run?”
He and Scarlett were brought back in 2022, courtesy of Triple H, who clearly had to apologize for the helmet thing. Since then, Kross dabbled outside WWE in New Japan, MLW, and AAA—all of whom reportedly loved him. AEW? He was offered a one-off match, but turned it down faster than Vince turned down logical booking.
So now, the question remains: will Kross stay loyal to the land of titantrons and timed entrances, or will he follow the wind (and probably a fog machine) to parts unknown?
Tick-tock, baby. Tick-tock.
