In a bold move that absolutely nobody predicted (except everyone), AEW President/CEO/head tweeter Tony Khan jumped on X (formerly Twitter, currently Elon’s playground) and announced two more matches for this Sunday’s Dynasty pay-per-view. Because what’s better than eight matches? That’s right—ten. Because when you’re already full, you obviously order the nachos and the cheesecake.
Match #1:
Chris Jericho vs. Bandido
—Mask vs. Title.
The stakes are high. The tension? Higher. And if you think this isn’t peak Jericho theater, you haven’t been paying attention. Jericho laid down the gauntlet on Dynamite weeks ago, and Bandido—probably still looking for his passport or a solid Wi-Fi signal—just now got around to accepting.
This will mark Jericho’s first PPV match since WrestleDream 2024—which, as we all remember, ended with him getting soundly Briscoe’d. Bandido, on the other hand, has only made one AEW PPV appearance, back at Double or Nothing 2023, where he participated in a 47-man International Championship Battle Royal that felt longer than a Zack Sabre Jr. promo.
So what’s at stake?
🥇 ROH World Title
😷 Bandido’s Mask
👴 Jericho’s Legacy (allegedly)
Match #2:
Mark Briscoe vs. Kyle “The Protostar” Fletcher
—Owen Hart Foundation Tournament – Round 1
We are now entering match number four of the Briscoe-Fletcher rivalry, which has escalated more gradually than a cold war standoff. The score?
-
Briscoe: 2
-
Fletcher: 1
-
Tony Khan: 100 retweets deep and loving every second
Their previous encounters span everything from ROH on HonorClub to AEW Collision to a dark alley behind catering where they once argued over the last chicken tender (unconfirmed).
If Fletcher ties the series this Sunday, we may be looking at a Best-of-Seven. Or worse—a Best-of-Twelve. God help us all.
