If you watched the Royal Rumble and thought, “Wait, whose theme is that?” every five minutes—you’re not alone. Turns out, even WWE Superstars are not thrilled with their music.
Def Rebel: The Soundtrack to Confusion
WWE’s music is currently handled by Def Rebel, and their themes have drawn serious criticism lately. The biggest issue? They all sound the same. When the Rumble relies on entrance music to get fans hyped, but instead everyone’s just standing there going, “Uh…who is this?”—that’s a problem.
According to Fightful Select, most WWE talent hate their themes, and none of the wrestlers Fightful spoke to had any say in their own music. Even worse? Complaining about it does nothing.
Bringing Their Own Music Just to Avoid Def Rebel?
Things have gotten so bad that new WWE signees are trying to bring their own music to avoid getting stuck with a Def Rebel track. Imagine signing a WWE contract and your first thought is, “Please, not the theme song.”
Meanwhile, AEW is out here throwing money at licensed music—using hits from Guns N’ Roses, Starship, and even Europe—and WWE has taken notes. Recently, they used “Obsession” by Animotion for Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Legends & Veterans Are Fighting Back
Some of WWE’s biggest stars have refused to switch to a Def Rebel theme, including:
🎶 Randy Orton – Said NOPE and kept “Voices”
🎶 AJ Styles – Came back and stuck with his CFO$ classic
Others, unfortunately, haven’t been so lucky.
Final Thoughts:
- WWE stars: Hate their themes.
- Def Rebel: Sounds like they’re making music in a factory.
- AEW: Handing out licensed bangers like candy.
- Fans: Just want themes they can actually recognize.
Should WWE ditch Def Rebel and bring back CFO$ or get more licensed music? Sound off! 🎶🔥
