Zoey Stark’s run toward the Women’s Money in the Bank briefcase hit an unexpected and painful detour on Monday’s WWE Raw—and not just because Rhea Ripley threw someone like a lawn dart.

Stark reportedly suffered a serious knee injury during a Triple Threat Match with Ripley and Kairi Sane, and early reports suggest it could sideline her for the rest of 2025. According to Fightful Select, there’s growing concern backstage that she may have torn something in her knee’s intricate collection of muscles and tendons, a.k.a. the things that scream when you land sideways like a folding chair at WrestleMania.

While it’s unclear if surgery is on the horizon, one thing is certain: Stark’s landing was bad. Real bad. During a dropkick attempt aimed at Sane, what appeared to be a miscommunication over positioning turned the move into an impromptu audition for Worst Landings Caught on Camera, WWE Edition. Stark’s leg twisted unnaturally, the referee immediately threw up the “X,” and the match paused as medical staff intervened.

The plan, reportedly, was for Ripley to pin Stark—because nothing says “Welcome back” to Kairi Sane like not eating the pin.

With Stark injured, Ripley and Sane had to improvise the remainder of the match, and credit where it’s due: they did so without missing a beat (or tearing an ACL). Ripley got the win, and fans got a finish that, while unintended, still brought the chaos.

After the incident, Stark took to social media to share an emotional thank-you with fans, noting she’d be out “for a while” and that the real pain was missing the ring—because wrestlers are built different and probably ice their emotions with Tiger Balm.

Support from across the wrestling world flooded in, with both Sane and Ripley posting heartfelt messages—because even in a business where people drop elbows for a living, the community runs deep.

Here’s hoping Stark gets back soon—and maybe gets her revenge in the 2026 ladder match with a titanium-enhanced knee.
